Welcome From Radio Punchline to Workhorse Domain
What started as an inside joke on Chicago talk radio turned into a real, live web & DNS server. Because of course it did.
The Origin Story
If you’re a listener to AM 560 Chicago and the Shaun Thompson Show, you might remember hearing the phrase “StinkyHammer.com” tossed around on air.
Around the time of the widely publicized incident involving Paul Pelosi and a hammer, Shaun joked that the domain StinkyHammer.com was still available. It was one of those throwaway, in-the-moment radio bits.
Yeah… I Registered It
Instead of letting it vanish into the ether, I grabbed the domain — purely in good spirits — and decided to do something productive with it.
Today, StinkyHammer.com isn’t just a punchline. It’s a real web server and DNS server, and it’s one of my main working domains in everyday use.
All in Good Fun
This site isn’t here to promote anger, conspiracy theories, or anything dark. It’s a small reminder that:
Sometimes a goofy radio joke, a little bit of timing, and a domain registrar are all you need to spin up something useful.
What’s Next?
For now, StinkyHammer.com stands as a tongue-in-cheek banner over a very real piece of infrastructure. Under the hood, it’s doing the boring but important work of serving sites and handling DNS — while wearing a ridiculous name like a badge of honor.
If you ended up here because you heard it on the radio:
Yes, the domain was real. Yes, someone actually built on it.
